About our site
This is the official site for Windle Parish Council and its parishioners. It aims to inform Windle parishoners of events and other news both from within the Parish and also from the St.Helens area. The site will supplement the printed Parish council newsletter and contain content from the newsletter. Windle Parish council consists of nine elected members from the local community. The parish council, currently chaired by Mr Ken Roughley, meets on every third Tuesday of the month at Eccleston Parish Hall in Kiln Lane. They discuss local community matters ranging from planning applications to changes in the parish boundary. Windle parish employs a part time clerk, currently Mr Len Kilshaw, who is responsible for implementing policy decisions as well as liasing with the town council and the local parishioners.News and Events

Friday the 3rd of February
As part of National Storytelling Week, we will be holding a special read
and rhyme session for the Under fives on Friday 3rd February at 10.30am,
with the story and rhymes being signed by the Deaf Society as well as in
the traditional way.
Thursday the 23rd of February
Come along and learn about Garswood Hall and the similarities to
Downtown Abbey. A talk by Dr. Tom Preston on 23rd February at 2.30pm
Monday the 27th of February
A Special coffee afternoon on Monday 27th February - from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. Come
along and taste the delights of "Fairtrade", have a free cup of tea or
coffee and biscuits with us. Information will also be provided on how to
get involved in Fairtrade in the local community.
Monday the 5th of March
A talk by local author ALLAN BATE on 5th March. Come and celebrate World
Book Day with us, by hearing local retired headteacher Allan Bate talk
about how he got into writing, resulting in his first novel "Scaretaker"
being published recently.
