Events calender for Eccleston Library in Broadway, Eccleston

Steve Goddard gives a talk about his new Novel "Rattles and Rosettes". 5th February

"Rattles and Rosettes" follows a Burnley fan on the club's famous 1914 FA Cup run. Miner Tom, 16, dreams of playing football for Burnley and England against a backdrop of grinding poverty – but soon finds himself in the trenches of World War One.
The book also tells the tale of Crystal Palace supporter Dan who’s disillusioned by Palace’s predicament in administration in 2010 – and looks back nostalgically to a golden age of football and music he has never known. With an insight also into the famous Christmas truce of 1914, and a romantic interest in both stories, there’s something for everyone in this novel !

The event is on Thursday 5th February at 2pm. and is completely free, but please book your place beforehand by contacting the library on 01744 677575 or emailing
