About our site

This is the official site for Windle Parish Council and its parishioners. It aims to inform Windle parishoners of events and other news both from within the Parish and also from the St.Helens area. The site will supplement the printed Parish council newsletter and contain content from the newsletter.

The Parish Council

Windle Parish council consists of nine elected members from the local community.

The parish council, currently chaired by Mrs Nancy Ashcroft, meets on every third Tuesday of the month at Eccleston Parish Hall in Kiln Lane. They discuss local community matters ranging from planning applications to changes in the parish boundary.

Windle parish employs a part time clerk, currently Mrs Janet Anderson, who is responsible for implementing policy decisions as well as liasing with the town council and the local parishioners.

Summer Reading Challenge 2016 – Big Friendly Read

Libraries everywhere are celebrating 100 years of the world’s favourite storyteller – Roald Dahl. Come and join in the celebrations at Eccleston Library – by taking part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge "The Big Friendly Read".

All children have to do is read any 6 books from the library. As children progress through the challenge they will receive special stickers, and if they succeed in completing, they will be presented with a certificate and medal.

The challenge starts on 14th July, and there will be a special Launch event at the library at 3.30pm. where children can join up and get their free pack.
The library will have plenty of free activities for children throughout the holidays – including BFG and The Twits crafts sessions, a Golden Ticket hunt, and much more ! Please contact the library for more information.
